Merlin - Anson Waxed Cotton Blue Jacket

Merlin's Anson is built as a lightweight commuter wax jacket, cut from Halley Stevensons' original Scottish 8oz silkwax waxed cotton, a fabric that reaches roughly 12oz once wet, giving it real substance without turning into a stiff, heavy shell. A Reissa waterproof and breathable membrane sits underneath the wax cotton outer, so it manages rain and internal moisture at the same time rather than trading one for the other.

Safety is built in properly, with Italian CE Level 1 shoulder and elbow armour from Safetech and a rear pocket ready to take a back protector. YKK and Max zippers run throughout for reliable fastening, expanding shoulder panels add flexibility for reach and movement, and rear reflective insert panels help with visibility in traffic. Adjustment points at the hem, cuff and collar let you fine-tune the fit, and a double-layered storm flap with Velcro adds extra weatherproofing over the main zip. Inside, a fixed lightweight cotton lining and leather trim to the collar round out the finish, and a short YKK trouser-connecting zip lets it pair with compatible riding trousers.
