This cruiser is built with heavy-duty cotton canvas that’s been thoroughly saturated with a special paraffin wax mixture by England’s famed British Millerain–there is no better natural fabric for turning away foul weather. The jacket is fully-nylon lined, and for added protection, a reinforcing layer of Cordura® ballistic nylon covers the shoulders and upper arms. Ballistic nylon, a tight, 2x2 basket-weave originally developed by DuPont® for WWII flak jackets, is renowned for its exceptional abrasion resistance and durability, exactly what’s needed if one goes down during a ride. This tough, midweight fabric has been treated with a double PU coating for even greater water resistance, so you stay dry even in driving rain.
